235 calls answered for one plumbing company.
One plumbing company, one phone line, and an AI receptionist behind it.
A plumber's phone rings while his hands are under a sink.
A plumber's day is spent on jobs. Calls come in while his hands are full, and more come after he's gone home.
So he kept his number, and we put an AI receptionist behind it. When he can't take a call, she answers in the company's name.
How his line works now.
His phone rings first.
If he's busy or doesn't answer, the call rolls to the receptionist instead of voicemail.
She answers in the company's name.
The caller hears the company's own greeting. If a caller asks, she says she's a virtual receptionist.
She asks the job, the place and how urgent.
For a leak, a clog or no heat, she gets what's wrong, where it is and the best number to call back. For gas or fire, she tells the caller to get out and call 911.
He reads the call on his phone.
An app alert and an email with a short summary of the call. Urgent calls are marked.

One mark for each customer call. All 235 answered. Every one of them came in while the owner couldn't pick up.
How we counted.
- The line
- The owner's phone rings first. A call he can't take goes to the AI receptionist. So every call here is one the owner did not pick up.
- The dates
- July 5 to October 7, 2026. Weekdays means Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM. Labor Day counts with the weekends.
- What counts
- Calls from customers who said what they needed.
- Left out
- Tests, spam and robocalls, sales pitches, hang-ups and calls with no stated reason.
- The owner got
- The caller's details by app alert and email.
- The source
- The receptionist's call records and call summaries for that one line.
This counts calls answered. It does not count jobs booked or money made.
